Halstead Property, one of the city's largest residential brokerages, announced two new promotions Thursday. The appointments come a day after Halstead's parent company, Terra Holdings, announced the creation of a business to promote new residential properties in the city and tapped one of the brokerage's senior executives to lead the new outfit.
Roberta Benzilio will now assume the responsibilities of Steven Kliegerman, the Halstead executive who was hired to lead the newly created Terra Development Marketing as president. Ms. Benzilio, who had been in charge of Halstead's Brooklyn sales since 2009, will have a slightly more expansive role than her predecessor as executive director. She will head marketing of new developments for Halstead, as well for its sister brokerage, Brown Harris Stevens. She has more than 20 years of experience and served five of those at Halstead.
Prior to leading Halstead's Brooklyn office, “Roberta was instrumental in development and implementing the strategy at multiple new developments throughout New York City, many of which yielded record sellouts,” said Mr. Kliegerman, in an internal announcement. “She is a widely recognized, oft quoted and much respected expert in the industry who is well known for her diligence, dedication and superior results within and outside the company.”
Additionally, Halstead has snagged broker Trish Martin from Brown Harris Stevens and named her director of sales for Brooklyn, to replace Ms. Benzilio. Ms. Martin, who will assume her new role on July 11, will be in charge of Halstead's Brooklyn offices in Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill. As such she will spearhead the brokerage's growth in the borough.
