New York magazine, whose stock-in-trade has long been hyping neighborhood hot spots, is now partnering with real estate brokerage Halstead Property so they can hype them together.
Starting this week, apartment hunters checking out, say, a condo in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on the Halstead Web site can get a quick read on nearby places to eat, drink or shop, courtesy of New York's database of listings and reviews.
Halstead hopes that the new feature, “Real Access to New York”—using the magazine's logo—will make its site more of a draw. “Eighty percent of [real estate] searches start online,” says President Diane Ramirez.
The partnership should also build traffic to NYmag.com. “The depth of the site will become more visible to people,” says Publisher Larry Burstein.
