Mann Report

One Mann's Opinion

June is here, and the summer has really taken off. It seems the warm weather encourages me to attend even more events that I thought possible.  I went to the groundbreaking ceremony for my dear friend Dean Palin’s new project on Gold Street in Brooklyn.  I also attended The Mount Sinai Lilac Ball where they received a record 5 million dollars.  More than 900 people attended The Capuchin Food Pantries “Tarzan The Musical” event at the Marriott Marquis.  I attended many more events, which you can see in upcoming issues.  They speak for themselves.

Last month we featured Marcia Kaufman and Jeffrey Appel of Preferred Empire Mortgage.  It was the first time we featured a residential mortgage broker.  You can see by our photo coverage and great contributing articles that we have made sure to give both our commercial and residential horizons equal exposure in the magazine.

This Month we feature Diane Ramirez of Halstead Properties, the premier name in residential brokerage.  She’s a true success story.  Diane started her career at Halstead being a broker and has worked her way up to being President.  I’ve spent time with Diane, and I can honestly say her sweet demeanor is a breath of fresh air.  She quietly “gets it” and is a willing listener.  The key to Halstead’s success has been Diane’s keen eye to notice trends.

Halstead Property is one of the quickest growing brokerage firms in the City, with 10 offices with over 500 sales associates and brokers in the New York metropolitan area and the Hudson Valley.  I was impressed by the fact the Diane’s door is always open to her brokers.  She saw the need for brokers to properly market their properties and sales and, accordingly, set up the resources to make this easier for them.  They’re a great team.  I know you’ll enjoy their story.

This issue has a great group of events beginning with The Developers Group presenting The Aurora, Williamsburg’s newest luxury residential condominium; Adelphi University’s Annual Golf Classic; The Real Estate Board of New York’s Annual Golf & Tennis Outing at Metropolis Country Club; Related Residential Sales LLC and Related Cervera Realty Services hosted the New York launch of the “W” South Beach Hotel and Residences at Stone Rose Lounge; and Atco Residential Group hosted Co-Brokers Recognition Party.  The 6th Annual Real Estate & Construction Gala was held and benefited Special Olympics New York; The Mann Foundation held their check dedication ceremony at Mount Sinai Hospital; Douglaston Development And Cantor-Pecorella, Inc. unveiled The Platinum Collection Residences; Sutton 57 hosted Broker Event; Classic Marketing LLC held the Wellington Tower Broker Party; Barbizon /63 hosted the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Gala; and AREW held an event at the stone Rose Lounge.

Between the work of The Mann Foundation and the growth of Mann Publications, we have been very busy.  The launch of Mann On The Street, a magazine for the Wall Street and financial community, has proven to be a bigger success than I initially thought.  With the help of organizations like Hedge Fund Cares and Overture Outreach.  I’m learning that all three industries, Finance, Real Estate and Fashion, have a common thread that holds them together.  They are all people driven, charity driven and love to give back to their respective communities.  This magazine completes our family of publications.

The golf season is here and, The Mann Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing is August 14th.  I hope to see you all there.

Regards,

Jeff
