King James, we've got one more for your court: Halstead Property.
Joining the long list of locals wooing basketball's biggest free agent LeBron James, the New York real estate firm is not only offering to find him a swanky pad, but also give the likely six-figure commission to a charity of his choice.
The campaign is called "Every King Needs a Castle". It has it's own site, EveryKingNeedsaCastle.com, which features a video starring Halstead president Diane Ramirez and former New York Knick's player John Starks. The two make their case from a sunny Brooklyn basketball court.
“Man, in the ’90s, we owned this town. There was nothing like it,” Starks says in the video. “We were kings.”
Ramirez also sinks a nothing-but-net shot to end the video.
This comes hot on the heels of blog reports that James allegedly looked at a $13 million townhouse in Greenwich Village (which used to belong to Billy Joel) and perused a $14.95 million pad in Columbus Circle earlier this week. The Cleveland Cavalier was also spotted partying in Chelsea last week, according to DNAinfo.com.
In addition to Halstead's campaign, the cast of Broadway's "Promises, Promises" released a YouTube.com video with a singing plea and Mayor Bloomberg gave James a video shout out from Times Square.
