Barneys Chief Sells Chelsea Co-Op

By Sarah Kershaw

MARK LEE, the new chief executive of Barneys New York, whose recent decision to fire two longtime buyers at the store caused a stir in the fashion world, has sold his apartment in Chelsea for $2.95 million, the full asking price, according to city records.

Mr. Lee was listed as the seller along with his longtime partner, Ed Filipowski, a co-president of KCD, the fashion public-relations firm. The full-floor, two-bedroom co-op at 467 West 22nd Street is located in a double-width brownstone and has 1,650 square feet of space, according to the listing, which was handled by Stribling & Associates. The buyers were listed as Robin Marino, the president and chief executive of merchandising for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and Robert Tramontano, and were represented by Halstead Property.

Mr. Lee, who was named chief executive of Barneys last August, previously ran Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Earlier this month the store announced it was letting go of two of its buying executives, Judy Collinson, the general merchandising manager for women’s fashion, and Julie Gilhart, the store’s fashion director.
