Sculptor Deaccessions Harlem Town House

By VIVIAN S. TOY

SANDY STARKMAN, a sculptor and designer who has a line of women’s clothing on the racks at stores like Neiman Marcus, just sold his town house in Harlem for $1.9 million. The house was first listed for $3.4 million in late October 2008, about a month after the collapse of Lehman Brothers — not the optimum time to put a home on the market.

The listing agents who finally sold the town house were Norman Horowitz and Michael Coker of Halstead Property.

The house is at 22 West 120th Street, across the street from Marcus Garvey Park. It has four bedrooms and just over 3,000 square feet. The floors are of polished concrete, and a large skylight above a central staircase sends sunlight down into the center of the house.
