Real-estate prices continue to soar in Manhattan, even as they plummet in the rest of the country.
According to two newly released broker reports, sales of high-end apartments are largely responsible for the upswing.
Both the Prudential Douglas Elliman and Halstead Property/Brown Harris Stevens reports found the average price for condos and co-ops in Manhattan is now more than $1.6 million.
That's up between 25 percent and 36 percent from last year, depending on the report.
The reports singled out sales at two buildings -- The Plaza and 15 Central Park West -- as playing a big role in the rising prices.
