Terra Holdings Promote Heym

Terra Holdings has announced that Chief Economist Gregory J. Heym will new serve as executive vice president and chief economist.  Heym is responsible for the Research and Communications Department for Terra Holdings, including Halstead Property and Brown Harris Stevens.  Most recently, Heym served as Terra Holding’s Senior Vice President of Research and Communications/Chief Economist.

Heym joined Terra Holdings in 2003.  With an extensive background in real estate, he previously served as vice president and chief economist at the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) where he authored REBNY’s cooperative and condominium sales reports and served as spokesperson for the organization.  Heym also oversaw the design of the REBNY members-only website and online database, which was responsible for a substantial increase in REBNY membership.  Prior to working with REBNY, Heym served as an economist at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Heym’s economic background is unique to the New York real estate market making him a vital asset to Terra Holdings.  As chief economist, he manages the ValuExchange system, a proprietary database that contains the transactions of all Terra Companies with the objective to build the most comprehensive and up-to-date database of both sold and closed transactions in this area.  He is also responsible for composing the market reports for both Halstead and Brown Harris Stevens as well as preparing economic forecasts for both companies.

Heym graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelors degree in economics and received a master’s degree in business administration from Hofstra University.  He currently serves on New York City’s Economic Advisory Panel.
