RISMEDIA, June 29, 2006—Terra Holdings, a privately owned real estate operating company in New York City, announced the promotion of Gregory J. Heym to Senior Vice President of Research and Communications. Heym also serves as the Chief Economist for Terra Holdings, which includes Halstead Property, Brown Harris Stevens and Vanderbilt Appraisal. Heym was most recently Vice President and Chief Economist for Terra Holdings.
In his new role as Senior Vice President, Heym will oversee the communications and research departments. He is also responsible for the market reports as well as the economic forecasts for Terra Holdings. In addition, Heym manages the ValuExchange system, which is a proprietary database containing the largest collection of closed sales data in New York.
“With his expertise and knowledge of the real estate industry, Greg is a natural fit to lead the communications and research efforts for Terra Holdings. He brings a strong and proven record of providing reliable and usable data to both our internal and external audiences, and we are confident in his abilities,” said Arthur Zeckendorf, Co-Chairman of Terra Holdings.
Prior to joining Terra Holdings in 2003, Heym was Vice President and Chief Economist at the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). While at REBNY, Heym developed and authored the Cooperative and Condominium Sales Reports. In addition, Heym designed the website for REBNY members and developed its comprehensive online database which resulted in an increased size in membership. Prior to his position at REBNY, he was an Economist at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. Heym graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and received a master’s degree in business administration from Hofstra University. He currently serves on New York City’s Economic Advisory Panel.
