When she decided to settle in New York City, Joanna sold advertising for some of the most widely recognized names in the industry, such as Southwestern Bell, where she was consistently named "Top Salesperson". Later, she was instrumental in launching the NY Observer, a Manhattan newspaper in their advertising sales department.
