Pearl is the consummate real estate professional. She has been assisting buyers and sellers for over two decades in what she considers to be one of the most important decisions of their lives. Her clients find that she listens carefully to discover what is important for their home. She prides herself on never having to persuade a buyer to purchase a particular property. Instead she shows them a great many appropriate homes pointing out the features that will enhance their lifestyle. Thus the buyers can make an educated decision. More often than not, there is one exceptional feature that the buyers love which determines the home they select. As a listing agent, Pearl's skills in staging, marketing, and negotiating assure that the sellers will obtain the highest price for their home in the shortest amount of time.
Pearl grew up in Easton, Connecticut working in her family business, Silverman's Farm, where she formed her work ethic at an early age. She enjoys meeting people from all walks of life and finds their divergent views enlightening. Pearl is one of eight children, including three sisters who also became real estate agents in the Washington, DC area, Los Angeles, CA, and Mystic, CT. Pearl's major at the University of Bridgeport was in business.
Shortly after her marriage she relocated to Sacramento, CA where she found a position as a service representative at Pacific Telephone. She feels this work helped her develop her empathy with clients under stress, which most buyers and sellers certainly are. Many enjoyable weekends were spent in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. Two years later she moved back to Connecticut as her husband "ED BAER" began his New York City radio career as a DJ with the WMCA "GOOD GUYS" followed by radio station CBS-FM. Pearl joined her husband at many openings of celebrity shows with performers including Tom Jones, The Supremes, and Bobby Darin who were appearing at the Copa, the Plaza, the Waldorf, and Radio City Music Hall.
Soon the Baers purchased their first Westport home plus a Dachshund puppy. A few years later a son and then a daughter arrived. Pearl enjoyed being a mother and in her spare time joined various charities becoming the president of Westport Area ORT. She also took tennis and golf lessons offered by the Westport Recreation Department and joined a bridge club. Summers passed quickly at the Westport beaches and town Country Club pools. Pearl's aunt wanted to move to Westport, so Pearl introduced her to a Realtor friend. She joined them in their house hunting and found it was an interesting avocation. With her children now in school, Pearl felt the need for a more productive activity. She saw an advertisement by a Real Estate School and as they say "the rest is history."
Pearl has a Brokers license, has earned her G.R.I.-Graduate Realtor Designation, and is a Realtor. She is a member of the Mid Fairfield County Association of Realtors, The Greater Fairfield County C.M.L.S, The Connecticut Association of Realtors and The National Association of Realtors. As a consistent high level producer in sales and listings, she has earned many prestigious company awards. Her clients have come from many different fields such as accounting, law, retail, medicine, stock brokerage, advertising, theater, and journalism. Some have been high level employees of G.E., Avon, PepsiCo, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Macys, Calvin Klein, Deutsche Bank, and The Wall Street Journal. Most of them have been referred to her by her previous clients. Pearl feels attitude is everything, and she is a very positive person. Her glass is always at least half full. She eagerly attacks any difficulties that may arise during a real estate transaction. Humor is sometimes called for. She strongly values her impeccable reputation and feels her most significant endeavor is to make sure her clients find that special property that they will be proud to call their HOME.
