Achievements: Astrid Pillay is among Halstead's very highest producers and earned the highest gross commissions in Halstead's midtown office in 2004 and 2006. Consistently among Halstead's top producers, Astrid has been recognized by being appointed to Halstead's Platinum Circle, Gold Circle and Producer's Council. Astrid has also been appointed Broker Specialist for two buildings in New York City for which Halstead serves as Managing Agent. Having exceeded $50 million in sales at Halstead Property, LLC Astrid was accorded the title of Senior Vice President.

Astrid serves regularly as a resource person for Halstead's training programs for more junior agents. She is a Senior Certified Relocation Agent and works extensively with Halstead's Relocation Department on clients who move to the city. She is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.

Before coming to the real estate business, Astrid was a partner in a successful international consulting firm. She has a Masters degree in Public Health from Columbia University in New York, has traveled all over the world, and has lived and worked in Israel, Italy Sudan, China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand and the U.S.A. In addition to English, Astrid speaks Arabic, Armenian, French, Hebrew and Italian.

Business Model: Astrid's works with investors, individuals relocating to New York from abroad and elsewhere in the US, developers, and individuals who just want sound and honest service and advice, handling both their sales and rental needs. Her sales and rentals have ranged from condo and coop apartments, through brownstones and townhouses, to lofts. Astrid works with a small team of associates to ensure that her clients' needs are tended to 24/7. "My clients demand, and have the right to demand, service and support at all times - through the weekend and late in the evenings. I ensure that I provide my clients reliable, timely service with unparalleled attention to detail.'

Astrid's business thrives on the bond of trust that she builds with her clients. She takes great pride in the fact that the majority of her clients are loyal repeat buyers and renters who enthusiastically recommend her to friends, family and colleagues. Astrid views each and every client as a potential long-term business relationship. In order to be effective, she tries to get to know her client's needs as well as she can. She says, "I provide my clients with the very best advice that I can. I ask myself, what would I do if I were in their situation?" This type of honesty and attention to detail has built Astrid a large following of loyal clients who look to her for sound investment advice.

Astrid's growing network of American and international investors look to her for sound investment advice and support. "My work begins early in the morning, answering e-mails and phone calls from Asia and Europe. Investors who live abroad need to know that they can rely on you fully; they have to be able to place their trust in your judgment and ability to get things done efficiently and in their best interest."

As a person who has herself moved numerous times throughout the world, Astrid is very sensitive to the needs of her clients. "My goal is to make the transition as easy and efficient as possible. I understand what newcomers are going through and do my utmost to help them get what they want. I take pride in searching the listings, knowing my buildings and ensuring that our clients get a sound investment on apartments that are convenient to them".

Astrid brings to Halstead a passion for real estate and a deep knowledge of residential buildings in the city. She prides herself on knowing details about buildings all over Manhattan including the new developments that keep sprouting up all over in this dynamic market. "I see this as an integral part of being able to advise my clients well. Besides, buildings are my passion!"

Having run her own international consulting business, Astrid is well aware of what companies expect of their employees. As she says, "in a city like New York, your career is an extremely important part of your life, but the trick is to balance this with your other needs -- children's schooling, access to the theatre, movies, restaurants and exercise facilities, to name just a few".

Interests Beyond Real Estate: Astrid enjoys gardening and is an avid tennis player. When not showing apartments and working with her clients, Astrid tries to get away from the city to unwind at her home in Bridgehampton.

Astrid Pillay apporte à Halstead sa passion pour l’immobilier et une connaissance étendue de l’urbanisme résidentiel de la ville.
