Cynthia Besteman is one of the few real estate agents in Manhattan who has achieved a high level of success in both sales and rental transactions. A senior vice president at Halstead Property, Cynthia began her real estate career in 2000 and has stayed on top of market trends ever since. She is able to assess what neighborhood, block or building will appeal to her clients, so they can make informed and smart decisions when it comes to finding the perfect apartment. Cynthia consistently impresses her customers, whether first-time buyer or professional investor, with her attention to detail from open house to closing, and is renowned for making sales in record time, even in today’s fluctuating markets.

Cynthia’s talents have been recognized by several international corporations, who turn to her first for assistance with employee relocations from around the world, including Paris, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Tokyo and Moscow. “Not only are these clients new to New York, but they’re also experiencing a completely different culture and housing market,” says Cynthia. “My job is to help make the transition as smooth as possible for them and their families, so that their first experience in New York is a successful and happy one.”

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from the University of Oregon, Cynthia moved to New York City in 1990. For 10 years, she performed on Broadway and off-Broadway in Tony- and Obie-nominated shows, as well as on stages around the world. Making the switch to real estate was an easy one for her: “I get to meet people from all over, in the most exciting city in the world, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”
