Honest, creative, and hard working, Emily Fisher brings 100% dedication and accountability to the buyers and sellers who choose to work with her to attain their real estate related goals. In 2011, many of these clients are now satisfied “repeat customers,” referring family members and friends in search of a new home or looking to sell a home or investment property. An experienced broker, builder, renovator and long time Brooklyn resident, Emily offers her clients in depth knowledge of Brooklyn’s neighborhoods, familiarity with floor plans, building financials, board regulations, and zoning and use regulations (if you buy that house can you build an extension? Is the basement apartment legally habitable? etc), staging and interior design know how, and market rents and recent sales. In her blackberry she carries a reliable database of go-to professionals, including contractors, land use attorneys, photographers, engineers, movers – you name it. Complementing her work as an agent, she serves as consultant to developers, in recent years assisting in the design and marketing of multiunit buildings in Boerum Hill and Fort Greene. A top performer at Halstead, Brooklyn in 2010, she plans to build on this success in 2011.
Prior to exploring her life long affinity for real estate, Emily worked in radio and television, producing award winning documentaries on the arts and science for PBS, WNYC, and the Sundance Channel, among others. In media, Emily honed skills she puts to use every day for her real estate clients, like how to listen, get the full story, write zippy copy, communicate accurately, negotiate, and follow through all while meeting deadlines and delivering results.
A proud native New Yorker, Emily has made her home in Brooklyn for the better part of 25 years. Emily has also lived in Manhattan, Brazil, Italy and New England and is happy to count friends and relatives in Sweden, Italy, Brazil, the United Kingdom, California, and even Manhattan’s Upper East Side. In her “spare” time she enjoys reading, volunteering at her daughter’s elementary school, walking her dog, photography, and browsing The Brooklyn Paper and real estate section of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and trade publications like brownstoner.com and The Real Deal.
