Raised in Westchester County, New York, and having lived in New York City for nearly 20 years, Joe Manzella has returned to the Garden State once again. After attending Princeton where he studied history and political science, Joe lived in Hoboken and Newport in Jersey City before moving to Manhattan. After many years of city living, he decided to give suburban living a go and moved to Maplewood three years ago.
Joe’s business career began at Federated Department Stores, where for 10 years he was part of the Home Furnishings Division, entering their Executive Management Program and leaving as Divisional Merchandise Manager. After leaving Federated he worked at the Museum of Modern Art for several years as General Manager of Retail Stores and Operations. For the last 11 years he held the position of Executive Director of the Cathedral of Saint Patrick where he was senior fundraiser, sales and marketing director, and overseer of many restoration and preservation projects. Joe’s love of architecture and preservation of ancient, historic sites was just one catalyst for his venture into the real estate world. Having owned and restored homes in both Manhattan and New Jersey, Joe’s love of real estate, both residential and commercial, has brought him to Halstead. His high energy level, integrity, strong work ethic and the warm relationships he has developed with so many business associates and donors has played a major role in his working with his clients. Joe covers much of the state of New Jersey, especially Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Union and Morris Counties.
Joe has traveled throughout Europe and Asia, dabbles in gourmet cooking, and takes his baseball seriously. He supports the preservation of art as a member of the Patrons of the Vatican Museums and is a member of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher which supports educational programs and hospitals in the Holy Land.
