2011 Broker of the Year, Park Avenue Office
A native of Nashville, Tennessee (aka, a Tennesee-an), Louise came to New York in 1987 and knew she had found “home.” For almost 24 years, Louise Phillips Forbes has been a leader in New York City’s residential real estate market, developing a significant following among both homebuyers and sellers throughout Manhattan. From the Upper West Side and Upper East Side to the West Village, Tribeca, and Wall Street, Louise proudly serves prominent New Yorkers.
Known and respected industry-wide, Louise’s sales have long surpassed the $1 billion mark, yet her real estate expertise extends far beyond that of a broker. Louise provides invaluable market intelligence to a wide range of customers, from single homeowners to developers of multi-million dollar luxury buildings, and she is wholly committed to providing personalized service. Throughout her career she has built strong relationships and has been recognized as a highly dependable advocate for her clients and customers.
Louise’s experience in both luxury residential sales and in development projects – over 20 to date – has equipped her with the unique ability to fully understand clients’ and customers’ needs, navigate fluctuations in the market, and negotiate complicated deals. Louise is known for her market insight, careful guidance and professionalism.
A frequent guest lecturer for the Real Estate Board of New York, Louise was recently profiled in Avenue Magazine’s “Influential Women of New York.” For the past few years she has been named in the Wall Street Journal’s “Real Estate Top 200,” which recognizes top real estate brokers from throughout the country.
Louise is committed to balancing work and family, despite all the demands of a successful real estate career. She and her husband Christopher live on the Upper West Side with their two sons, Douglas, 8, who is a second grader at Browning, and Kenneth, 6, who attends Mandell.
An enthusiastic supporter of the arts, Louise is an active board member (for more than a decade) for Change for Kids, a non-profit organization that provides cultural arts programs for inner-city school children. Recently, Louise was invited by Art in General – one of New York City’s leading non-profit arts organizations – to serve on the Commissioner’s Circle, which provides in-depth support to emerging artists for production of new works. Additionally, Louise has served on her co-op board as well as the advisory committee for Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
