For thirty years, Lucille Story has been a Realtor in Darien. She has enjoyed selling and listing all price ranges from the first time buyer to waterfront properties. Growing up along the water, sailing a Tartan on Long Island Sound to Edgartown has been a favorite pasttime. Lucille has been a Director and past President of the Darien Board of Realtors, member of Noroton Yacht Club and presently Secretary of the Darien Dance Cotillion.

She’d like to share some comments from her buyers and sellers!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude for all your hard work over the past few years and especially during the difficult negotiations. You did a terrific job when you staged the house. It has been such a pleasure working with you and we were so lucky to have chosen you.

Lucille’s clients had trouble selling their house -- they called her, did the work she suggested and had three offers all over asking price.

I would like to thank you for being the consummate real estate professional in the sale of our home. Upon walking into the front door for the first time you immediately recommended several changes, the major one being to repaint several of the principal rooms throughout the house.

Our first meeting with you was New Year’s Eve and although you were hosting a formal dinner party for 14 that night you stayed at our house until all our questions were answered and until you sold us on your winning ways. You spoke with us honestly and directly always keeping our goals in mind. We felt at all times that you kept our best interests at heart.

We must admit when you told us to take down the entry hall wallpaper (it took us five years to find that pattern) and remove wallpaper from the bedrooms, kitchen and baths we were skeptical and reluctant. However, having held two houses for more than a year we decided to try it “Lucille’s way.” The final stroke of genius was changing the exterior color – our favorite dark green to plain white. (The day after the painters finished the house sold!)
