Born and raised in Manhasset, Long Island, Perry graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Economics. He worked for more than 10 years as a Senior Securities Analyst for the Value Line Investment Survey, the largest stock advisory newsletter in the U.S. In 1998, he created the Internet Industry for the publication, and served as the company's chief Internet analyst for seven years.
The proud owner of a co-op apartment on West 66th Street, Perry has lived in Manhattan for over 20 years, and previously enjoyed life in such neighborhoods as the Village and Hell's Kitchen. He is an avid tennis player, and loves the theater and other unique cultural events in New York City.
