2009 REBNY Residential Rookie Salesperson of the Year
Renée Fishman is the 2009 winner of the Real Estate Board of New York’s prestigious Rookie of the Year Award. This honor is given by the industry annually to one agent in all of New York City who has demonstrated an outstanding expertise in all facets of the skills that top brokers require: an ability to originate, analyze, negotiate and close deals, while displaying sound moral character and high ethical behavior, leadership qualities, teamwork skills and significant sales volume. REBNY praised Renée’s excellence in these areas, as well as her innovative use of social media and technology in her real estate practice.
Renée is recognized by the real estate community and her clients as a focused, results-oriented professional who understands the art of the deal and guides her clients and customers through the process with a sure hand. Her clients and customers include high-profile business executives, domestic and foreign investors, real estate professionals and first-time buyers. Whether working on a rental transaction or a multi-million dollar sale, she imbues her real estate practice with the values of integrity, discretion and dedication to her clients and customers. This approach, combined with creative problem solving techniques, keen attention to detail, and negotiation experience honed through her career as a corporate lawyer have earned her loyalty from buyers and sellers and praise from her customers, clients and colleagues.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School, Renée honed her problem-solving and negotiation skills as an attorney at a top-10 law firm and as in-house counsel. Her own apartment purchase and experience as member of her co-op’s board of directors provide Renée with unique insights into the complexities surrounding the purchase and sale of a home, and she draws on these experiences to guide both first-time and seasoned buyers and sellers through the process. In a market where finding an apartment or buyer is often the easiest part of the process, Renée stays actively involved in every stage of the deal to ensure a smooth transaction.
Renée is a native New Yorker who is familiar with every corner of the city. She attended the Ramaz School on the Upper East Side, where most of her family still lives, and lived in several neighborhoods before purchasing her own apartment in the Union Square area.
Renée serves on the junior boards of City Harvest and the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She regularly teaches seminars for first-time buyers and speaks on social media topics. She also serves as a community representative on the Standing Committee for Free Speech and Expression of the New School University. When she is not with clients, Renée can be found in the air on the flying trapeze.
