William spent 20 years working in sales and marketing executive positions with major corporations before joining Halstead Property, LLC in 1988 as a sales person. Soon after joining this firm, he took and passed the New York State Real Estate Broker's Course.

Prior to joining Halstead Property, Mr. Nicolai worked with American Standard Inc.,The Young Presidents' Organization, United Cerebral Palsy, Inc., McCall's Magazine and Young & Rubicam,Inc. He was, and still is, involved with a number of civic, social and professional organizations in Manhattan and East Hampton, NY, as well as with his condominium board. He has also been a member of the New York Athletic Club since the 1970's.

Mr. Nicolai received a BA from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and an MBA in Marketing/Management from Pace University in New York City. He has also taken a variety of real estate courses at New York University.
