Matthew J. Leone brings a fresh, unconventional perspective coupled with an extensive knowledge base of digital marketing techniques to Halstead serving as the firm's first Chief Brand and Marketing Officer. Matthew oversees the 14-member Brand Team responsible for the creative brand direction for Halstead, its agents and listings.
He is passionate about staying on top of the latest trends & integrating innovative solutions into all forms of marketing, branding and technology. Spearheaded by Matthew, Halstead was one of the first firms to embrace such forms as video, social media, drones, 3D, VR, wearables, partnerships, and many other ground-breaking approaches. Prior to joining Halstead, Matthew worked at the sports marketing agency NSM, working on the PGA Tour as well as the Big East Conference on experiential marketing and sponsorship opportunities. This experience helped him in his architecture of the strategic exclusive partnership between Halstead and the most valuable sports brand in the world, the New York Yankees. Matthew was also one of the only Chief Marketing Officer of two brands from 2014-2019 overseeing both Halstead and Brown Harris Stevens and leading the simultaneous rebranding efforts of both companies in 2018.
Matthew also regularly appears as a panelist and speaker at Inman Connect as well as NAR Conferences, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World Conferences, NYSAR conventions, and Luxury Portfolio Summits speaking on concepts that will shape the future of real estate industry. He also serves and teaches at the Real Estate Board of New York's continued education course series. He recently served two terms on the Technology Advisory Council for Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, regularly guiding the global network on a variety of technology initiatives as well as the Inman News Content Advisory Board. In 2018, Matthew was the recipient of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World's prestigious President's Award, which formally acknowledged his significant contributions and service to the organization. He has been routinely interviewed & quoted in media outlets such as the Today Show, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, AdWeek, BrandWeek, NBC, CNBC, NY1, NY Magazine, The Real Deal and many more.
Matthew enjoys watching and playing sports in his off time, is a huge Yankees and Jets fan, self-taught TV and Film Critic, and lover of anything with Buffalo Sauce.
He currently resides in Westchester County, NY with his wife and 2 children.
