David A. Burris is a Principal and Co-Chairman of Terra Holdings, LLC, a company that owns and operates several real estate service firms including Brown Harris Stevens, one of the oldest real estate service providers in New York City, the Hamptons, North Fork and Palm Beach with over a staff of over 700 people operating in three states; Halstead Property Company, a residential brokerage and management company comprised of more than 1,000 brokers throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Riverdale and Connecticut; and Vanderbilt Holdings, a service firm with disciplines in appraisal and consulting, insurance, and residential mortgage brokerage. The combination of Brown Harris Stevens and Halstead Property Company sold more than $9 billion of real estate during the calendar year 2013, and the company’s management divisions manage over 400 buildings comprising more than 26,000 residential units.

Prior to acquiring Brown Harris Stevens twenty years ago, Mr. Burris served as Senior Vice President of the Macklowe Organization and Manhattan Pacific Management Company, Inc., where he was responsible for overseeing several of the firm’s major residential and commercial projects, property portfolios, and supervising and leasing of several major projects.

Mr. Burris has also served as a President of Helmsley Spear, representing clients in the sale and acquisition of investment grade real estate.

Mr. Burris graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting.

He resides in Manhattan with his wife and two daughters.
