+aRt, a 13-story residential condominium that embodies contemporary art, design and lifestyle, is now 90 percent sold, according to Ekstein Development.
Designed by GF55 Architects, the 90-unit brick building, located at 540 West 28th Street in Chelsea's gallery district, has "art-focused design features" that have drawn a cross-section of creative minds to the building, say the marketing agents.
"Our vision was to design a building that perfectly captured the energy and aesthetics of the surrounding neighborhood," said Stephen G. Kliegerman, president of Halstead Property Development Marketing.
"Buyers are telling us that no other building in the vicinity comes close to offering this level of art-focused design coupled with the exclusive amenities that luxury buyers have come to expect."
The building features a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedrooms. Among the most prestigious of the remaining units on the market is the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home featured in the September 2011 issue of Elle Decor.
With 1,380 s/f of interior space, 10C, listed at $2.15 million, also includes a 563 s/f private terrace and is the last unit on the market with outdoor space.
The lobby of +aRt features a limited-edition bench from designer John Pawson, along with a contemporary painting by emerging Brooklyn-based artist Shawn Powell. The staircase leading from the top floor to the roof deck creates a canvas for an original graffiti-style mural.
Move-ins at +aRt began in Marhc 2011. The development, which has an effective 10-year tax abatement, is available for immediate occupancy.
+aRt was developed by Ekstein Development, L+M Development Partners and RD Management.
