MANHATTAN — Two brokers from Brooklyn won “Residential Deal of the Year” awards in residential sales from the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) at its Awards and Charity Gala on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in Manhattan.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards, according to Steven Spinola, REBNY president. To commemorate that, the event was held under a tent in Central Park and featured a masquerade-themed ball, a slideshow that showcased the past 20 years of winners as well as a champagne toast.
The Brooklyn residents and award winners were Ari Harkov for Most Promising RookieandGary Friedland, who took second prize in the residential sales category. Both agents work in the Village office of Halstead Property.
In addition to top residential sales winners, awards were also presented to the top brokers in the residential rental category, to the top rookie and to lifetime achievers.
Proceeds from the event went to REBNY’s Residential Members In Need Fund and The Central Park Conservancy.
Over the last 20 years, the annual REBNY gala and charity event has raised more than $2 million for various organizations whose mission is to help the homeless in New York City, according to Spinola.
