Beat The House With NY Broker Christopher Kromer And Georgia Broker Jojo Jones

Two real estate brokers who are like night and day star in the new HGTV series “Beat the House” which premieres tonight.

Couples think they have found their perfect home and are ready to pull the trigger and make an offer, until the series real estate experts say they can find the couples something better. Each one finds a house that they believe is better suited for the couples and present it to them to buy instead. Will the couples stay with their original choice or will one of the experts get it right and Beat The House?

‘Beat The House’ stars Christopher Kromer (Full Disclosure: my colleague at Halstead Property in New York City) and Jojo Jones, a broker in Macon, GA.

Real estate agents Jojo and Christopher duke it out to convince home buyers to pick their house on "Beat the House" on HGTV.

What makes the show even more fun, are the working differences between Kromer and Jones, the New York Number Cruncher vs. Savvy Southern Charmer respectively.

Their approaches couldn’t be more different. Christopher was born in Queens, and raised in New Jersey. He grew up in real estate, with his mother being a successful real estate broker. The former financial consultant gained his real estate license in New York in 2005 and currently works at Halstead Property.

Jojo hails from a family of physicians in Macon, Georgia. Drawn to acting and theater, her love of people shifted her sights to opening her own boutique.

Once the camera rolls, the gloves are on and it’s a battle as Christopher and Jojo work with couples to persuade them to buy the house they picked for them, instead of one they've already chosen.

Buying a home is one of the biggest purchases anyone will make in a lifetime. And navigating through what can be an extremely overwhelming process without the proper professional guidance can lead to uninformed decisions, mistakes and a bad buying experience. Sometimes buyers can end up feeling that bought the wrong house.

Watch the show and see if you can choose what the couples will do. “Beat the House” premieres on HGTV on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11 p.m. ET and 11:30 p.m. ET. Click here for a local channel guide.
