Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE®)

Akiko Kohayakawa brings enthusiastic love and dedication to the New York City real estate world. She is a client-oriented, results-driven broker, known for her personable approach, loyalty, and keen sense of market trends. Akiko truly understands how important and profound each transaction means to her clients and customers. This is why she is always in their corner with all her knowledge, abilities, and commitment to achieve each of her clients and customers’ real estate goals.

Prior to joining Halstead Property, Akiko worked diligently at a boutique Manhattan real estate firm to build extensive market knowledge and strong lasting relationships with international investors, sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants. Akiko has learned the financial as well as the psychological aspects of the real estate business. She understands none of her advice or suggestions would matter if she does not fully understand each of her client’s true desires. Her firm belief in effective communication has largely contributed to what makes Akiko a sharp negotiator.

In the ever-changing New York City real estate world, her tenacious and tireless work to meet her clients and customers’ needs, and to make the process as fun and smooth as possible has been highly regarded by the clients and customers she has represented. “It is truly honorable and exciting to be a part of such an important event in a person’s life. I feel I have succeeded if I have earned their trust and faith through my hard work and the real estate success achieved for them.”

Akiko was born and raised in Kawasaki, Japan, one of the densely populated cities stretching between Tokyo and Yokohama. Her own adventure started when she was 18 years old. Shortly after graduating high school, without knowing anyone, she packed up her suitcase and moved to the United States alone. In Bay Area, California, with her strong goal-oriented mind, she quickly learned English and successfully earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing Management. Her next step was to follow her dream and move to New York City to pursue a career in real estate.

“I just love what I do. Working with such a variety of people is rewarding and has truly enlightened me. I also have a strong passion for architecture and homes. It’s quite uplifting to see a deal closed and watch my client come away happy.” In 2012, her love and obsession towards her job prompted her to join Halstead Property, the most reputable and trusted real estate firm in New York City. With her numerous experiences, excellent resources, and the right attitude, Akiko is ready to fulfill your special real estate desire.
